The smart, sportily put together grey from the best Belgian dam line already convinced the professional audience during his licensing in Elmshorn in 2021 with outstanding quality over the fence, seemingly unlimited scope, overview, excellent technique, and quality of movement as well as best charactervalues. – Not surprising, as the pedigree of this youngsterunites globally sought-after top stallions that shine in 1.60m courses: The descendants of his father Colman by Carthago-Lord-Marlon xx, whom the elegant Concur cannot deny visually, lead the winning statistics with far more than three million euros, alone around 170 of his sons and daughters registered for German competitive sport are successful in the top class. With the current number two of the WBFSH ranking Diamant de Semilly, Olympic stallion Quidam de Revel, the Capitol I son Calato, the seventh of the Olympic Games 1992 Darco and the Holsteiner Chin Chin, who became a stamp stallion not only in Belgium, other top sires coveted around the globe follow on the sire side of the pedigree.
Concur is also well bred on his mother’s side. The BWP performance line 34, the line of Querly Chin, represents the silverware of Belgian breeding, is one of the world’s most important dam lines in terms of jumping horses and is mainly cared for by the renowned breeder and stallion owner Joris de Brabander, head of the stable de Muze. Concur’s grandmother by Quidam de Revel brought five successful offspring in international sport, the third dam, by Calato, also brought jumping horses successful up to 1.60m. The fourth dam, Narcotique de Muze II, was Belgium’s figurehead both in sport and in breeding: herself successful up to 1.60m under the Canadian Eric Lamaze, the mare by Darco also became mother to licensed stallions and delivered athletes for the international top classes in series, including the dam of Vagabond de la Pomme, highly decorated with the Frenchwoman Pénélope Leprevost in five-star classes, World Cup jumping and Nations Cups. Also the dam of Narcotiquede Muze II, Qerly Chin by Chin Chin, with Christophe Barbeau (SUI) reserve horse of the Olympic Games in Athens, and her dam Kerly by Pachat II were successful at 1.60 meter level.
Many other top international horses can be attributed to this dam line: Killer Queen VDM, for example, Daniel Deusser’s Olympic partner in Tokyo, who won six Grand Prix over 1.60 m in 2022 alone. Or the stallion Qyerlybet Hero, a son of Narcotique de Muze II, one of the top horses of Philippe Le Jeune (BEL). Sea Coast Ferly, a grey mare, also fromNarcotique de Muze II, collected ribbons under Gudrun Patteet (BEL) in 1.60 m course as well as Heroine de Muze,with which the Japanese Olympic rider Taizo Sugitani won the individual gold medal at the Asian Games in 2019. Her son Levis de Muze was one of the most respected horses at the 2021 European Championships in Riesenbeck, when the Greek Ioli Mytilineou finished twelfth in the individual ranking with the then only ten-year-old. With Nimrod de Muze Z, Pedro Veniss represented Brazil’s colours at the 2022 World Championships in Herning. In the saddle of Go Easy de Muze, Irishman Darragh Kenny finished fifth at the Nations Cup final in Barcelona in 2015. Four years later, Niels Bruynseels (BEL) won team silver at this final in the saddle of the stallion Jenson van’t Meulenhof, another representative of the dam line. Lorenzo de Luca represented Italy at the World Cup Finals with Ensor de Litrange LXIII in Ohama in 2017 and Gothenburg in 2019. And Harrie Smolders (NED) relied on the Qerly Chin daughter Exquis Walnut de Muze at the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Kentucky, with which he had finished fourth with the team at the 2009 European Championships in Windsor and won Grand Prix and Nations Cups in Madrid, Dublin, Doha, Wellington, Mechelen and Calgary. Her son I’m Special de Muze is a globally sought-after sire, as is Million Dollar, who was already able to celebrate success under Sophie Hinners in 2022 as a ten-year-old up to the Nations Cup victory in Mannheim. Among the figureheads of the dam line is undoubtedly the winning stallion of the BWP licensing 2013 Kasanova de la Pomme, with Koen Verrecke (BEL) in the saddle winner of the Sires of the World jumping in Lanaken in 2021 and celebrated winner of double gold at the Nations Cup final in Barcelona in 2022.
The exceptional talent Concur himself is well on the way to adding another great chapter to the long success story of his dam line: At his short performance test in November 2022 in Elmshorn, which he completed with a score of 8.08 in a top field, he convinced under the saddle as in his licensing not only over the fence, but also with his willingness to perform, excellent rideability, naturally uphill canter, best balance and correct conformation. Concur is trained by the Australian Christopher Burton, the World Championship and Olympic participant in eventing, living in England, who has also been highly successful in international show jumping.
